Current guide baseline
| Checked | Latest official announcement | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| September 6, 2026 | Patch 1.04 — September 2, 2026 | Adds Save & Quit, skip-prologue, Workshop Key and Blowtorch map pins, plus combat, stealth, sickness, and map fixes. |
Restart Steam after an update before retrying a blocked interaction. Keep a save from before a major machine or route transition; a patch may correct a bug but cannot always repair a state already saved incorrectly.
Patch 1.04 — September 2, 2026
- Added Quit and Save & Quit options.
- Added an option to skip the prologue and allowed the belt inventory to open without obstructing the map.
- Added map objective pins for the Workshop Key and Blowtorch.
- Added line-of-sight checks for mutant melee attacks; crouched footsteps no longer make sound.
- Changed vodka Quick Use so it is only consumed automatically when sickness is critically high.

- Fixed door loading, keybinding, Iron Sights setting, and map-objective localization issues.
- Reduced Headless Mutant sound reactivity and adjusted mutant disengagement.
- Changed the Hardcore damage multiplier from 0.70 to 0.75.
- Added possible fixes for the Prasnova boat repair and Workshop wire-door blockers.
Patch 1.01 — August 26, 2026
- Fixed the Punch Card's first-attempt failure and several menu, map, save-trigger, flashlight, and interaction issues.
- Fixed achievement awarding for End Of The Line, Recorded, Blightbreaker, Iron Might, and the hidden Red Express condition when the campaign is completed with the relevant modifiers.
- Made Sickness inactive by default on Hardcore and adjusted Kuvalda behavior.

Launch hotfix — August 24, 2026
The launch hotfix addressed boat activation and disappearance, zombies that appeared to stand after death, and map objectives that failed to load. If a current save still shows one of these symptoms, keep the save, update Steam, and test from a point before the affected event.
How to report a version-specific problem
Include the installed version, map area, objective text, key item carried, and the last interaction before the problem appeared. A clear report helps distinguish an old workaround from a newly introduced issue. For route-specific help, use the full walkthrough or the relevant puzzle guide.
