Iron Blight Punch Card: Location and Puzzle Help
Find the Iron Blight Punch Card on the green workshop bench, learn when it appears in Prasnova, how it advances the route, and how to avoid puzzle bugs.

The Iron Blight Punch Card is made at the green punching machine on a metal desk inside the brick-walled Prasnova workshop office. Reach the office by following the upper metal catwalk, read the nearby Override Protocol note, enter the required five-digit personnel sequence, collect the finished Punch Card from the machine, and carry it to the matching exit-gate control. If the correct sequence fails on the first attempt, update the game: Patch 1.01 fixed exactly that launch bug.
This section appears late in the workshop route. In a verified full-game recording, the Punch Card is completed at about 1:55:56, after the PP-91 Kedr Extended Mag and before the Blowtorch. The room is easy to recognize by its red-brick walls, yellow lockers, green cabinets, filing-desk drawers, and the green manual punching machine beside a cream-colored paper tray.
Quick Punch Card route
- Continue through Prasnova until you have the Workshop Alley Key and can enter the industrial workshop area.
- Follow the raised metal walkways into the small brick office with lockers and filing cabinets.
- Read the Override Protocol document beside the machine; it explains the order of the personnel data.
- Interact with the green punching machine on the desk and enter the five-digit sequence from the relevant worker information.
- Interact again when the prompt changes to Punch Card, then take the newly created tool.
- Carry the card back to the appropriate exit-gate reader and continue toward the Blowtorch objective.
The card does not come from an enemy or an ordinary loot container. The machine itself produces it after the data has been entered correctly, so leaving the room without taking the output is the most common non-bug reason for still seeing a locked route.
What does the Override Protocol say?
The note states that manually clearing the exit gate requires a five-digit card built from personnel data in a strict order. The four labeled fields are Department Designation, Individual Rank, Shift Assignment, and Worker ID. One of those values contributes more than one digit, which is why the final card contains five digits despite the note listing four field names.
Use the values attached to the employee or shift relevant to the exit-gate condition, then concatenate them in the exact order printed on the protocol. Do not sort the values numerically and do not enter the worker ID first just because it looks like the most specific number. The puzzle is testing whether you follow the document's data order, not whether you find a standalone keypad code written elsewhere.
Is there one universal Punch Card code?
The supplied footage confirms the protocol, machine, room, and successful output, but it does not display a readable on-screen number while the keys are pressed. For that reason, this guide does not invent a fixed code that cannot be verified from the source material. Read the personnel documents in your current area and build the five digits in the printed order.
This also makes the guide safer across updates or localized builds. If Ronesans Interactive changes a worker record, a hard-coded number can become wrong while the protocol remains valid. The reliable solution method is the field sequence: department, rank, shift, then worker ID.
Where is the punching machine?
From the workshop's open industrial floor, use the metal stairs and catwalks to reach the enclosed brick office. Enter the doorway at the end of the narrow walkway; there may be bodies near the approach, so reload before crossing instead of stopping in the exposed corridor. Inside, look along the wall with the green storage cabinet and desk.
The punching machine is a low green device with a bank of round cream keys and strips of card stock running across its base. A pale in-tray sits to its left. When you aim at the device, the red interaction label changes as the sequence advances, including Punch Card and then Insert New Punch Card after the output is collected.
How to use the finished Punch Card
After collecting the output, move back toward the exit-gate equipment identified by the protocol. Equip or select the Punch Card only when the reader requests it; carrying the card is not enough if you are interacting with the wrong electrical panel. Watch the prompt text and make sure the card has actually left the machine before retracing your path.
The complete route moves on to the Blowtorch at roughly 1:57:39 in the reference playthrough, followed later by the Pump Gauge, Drive Belt, and Jerry Can. If your current objective points toward one of those tools, the Punch Card section is behind you and repeated use at the punching machine is unnecessary.
Why does the correct sequence fail?
At launch, the Punch Card puzzle could consistently reject the first attempt even when the code was correct. The official Patch 1.01, released August 26, 2026, fixed that specific issue. Restart Steam, let the update complete, and confirm that the game is no longer running the launch build before testing the same sequence again.
If the game is current, step away from the machine, re-read the protocol, and verify the order of all four fields. Check that the employee record matches the gate condition rather than a different worker in the same area. Make a manual save before another attempt so a failed interaction does not force you to repeat the combat approach.
What if the card is missing after loading a save?
First inspect the machine output and your inventory grid. A limited grid can make tool management easy to misread, especially when several magazines or long weapons occupy adjacent cells. If the card was produced but not taken, it should still be associated with the machine rather than appearing somewhere unrelated in the district.
If the room or prompt state looks wrong after loading, close the game fully and verify its files through Steam: open Library, right-click Iron Blight, choose Properties, select Installed Files, and run Verify integrity of game files. Load an earlier save made before entering the office only after the current save and updated build have both been tested.
Inventory preparation before the puzzle
Leave at least one small block of inventory space free before reaching the desk. The Punch Card is a progression tool, and the nearby route soon adds another tool, so an overfilled grid can create unnecessary backtracking. Store surplus ammunition for weapons you are not carrying and avoid bringing multiple large firearms into a known puzzle section.
Keep one dependable weapon loaded because the return trip crosses exposed workshop paths. The puzzle itself is safe once the office has been cleared, but Iron Blight's no-HUD design makes it easy to forget a partial magazine after a fight. Check it before leaving the room rather than discovering the problem at the next gate.
Verified source and version
The location and order were checked against the supplied all-weapons full-game recording by Kane Wheelan & Son, where the Punch Card chapter begins at 1:55:56. The bug status comes from the official Patch 1.01 announcement. This guide was last verified on August 31, 2026, after Patch 1.02.
