The Workshop is the late-Prasnova route where the Workshop Alley Key leads to the Punch Card machine and then the Blowtorch. Treat it as a key-item chain, not a place to clear room by room: carry the current key, keep two inventory cells free before the brick office, and make a save before interacting with the machine or a locked industrial door.

Enter the workshop with the right inventory

The Workshop Alley Key appears after the Connector Key and Large Backpack portion of Prasnova. The key is route-critical; a nearby gun or attachment is optional. If your grid is full, install a compatible attachment, store a weapon whose ammunition is unavailable, or leave a clearly optional pickup for a later return rather than dropping the key.

Patch 1.04 added a map objective pin for the Workshop Key. That pin helps you return to the correct objective, but it does not replace checking the item's name and the current route text. If an older video lacks the pin, compare landmarks rather than assuming the route changed.

Find the brick office and make the Punch Card

Follow the raised metal route into the small brick office with yellow lockers, green cabinets, and a green machine on a desk. Read the Override Protocol, then use the Punch Card solution for the field order and recovery steps.

Do not leave when the machine appears to finish. Interact again to take the completed card. Patch 1.01 fixed a launch bug that could reject a correct first attempt, so restart Steam before assuming the document or route is wrong.

Leave the card gate and collect the Blowtorch

Use the card at its matching gate reader, then continue toward the Blowtorch. Patch 1.04 added a map pin for this objective as well. The Blowtorch is a progression tool, not a substitute for the Crowbar or Bolt Cutter; hold on to it until its matching heat-cut or sealed-metal interaction has completed.

The Workshop can create sudden inventory pressure because the key, card, and Blowtorch arrive close together. Make the space before entering the office rather than discarding a completed route item afterward.

Workshop door or route not advancing

  1. Confirm that the Workshop Alley Key, Punch Card, or Blowtorch is carried rather than stored.
  2. Reload a save from before the affected machine or door. Do not overwrite the only pre-interaction save while testing.
  3. Update Steam. Patch 1.02 included a possible fix for the Workshop wire door, and Patch 1.04 fixed additional factory-door and mutant-pathing issues.
  4. Re-open the map to check the Workshop Key or Blowtorch objective pins on a current build.

Where the Workshop leads

The Workshop is part of the broader Prasnova route. After the industrial chain, use the Police Station location guide for the camera-panel area, or open the full walkthrough for the next mandatory objective. For every route tool in order, see key items.

Evidence boundary

The patch effects and map pins on this page are official Steam facts. The room landmarks and route sequence are maintained from the site's completed-route evidence; report a discrepancy with your game version and current objective so the route can be retested.
