Iron Blight's official roadmap schedules gamepad support for early October, multiple endings for December, and a console release with Mercenaries Mode for Q1–Q2 2027. These are development targets from the September 30 announcement. As checked on October 9, 2026, the latest published patch announcement is still 1.05; use the released patch notes to decide what your installed game can do today.
Planned updates and what to do now
| Official target | Planned update | Useful action for players |
|---|---|---|
| Early October 2026 | Gamepad Support | Check the controller guide before choosing a controller-only run. |
| Scream Fest | Cassette Saves Update | Review save rules and stopping points before starting a challenge run. |
| December 2026 | Multiple Endings | Follow the current campaign route; revisit branching-ending guides when the update ships. |
| Q1 2027 | Modifier Update | Check difficulty and modifiers against the build used for your achievement run. |
| February 2027 | Female Zombies & Menu Update | Recheck enemy and menu advice after installing that release. |
| Q1–Q2 2027 | Console Release & Mercenaries Mode | Use this as a release window when planning a purchase, rather than a confirmed launch day. |

Is controller support already available?
The early-October target is a reason to check for a new release, rather than proof that full support has arrived. Patch 1.05 explicitly postpones complete Xbox gamepad support. Before a long session, test menu selection, inventory, interaction and pause in a safe area. The controller support page explains how to isolate a missing input.
Does the cassette update mean Cassette Tape Mode is new?
Steam already lists Recorded for completing the campaign in Cassette Tape Mode. The roadmap names an update to cassette saves; it does not describe every change to the mode. If you are pursuing Recorded, check the achievement requirements and your selected modifiers before beginning. Keep the release that changes saves separate from the earlier achievement-award fixes.
Should you wait for multiple endings?
If you want to complete the existing story, use the current walkthrough. If your goal is to see every future branch, December is the developer's target for the update to watch. A future content announcement cannot supply unlock conditions for the current game, so keep your ending checklist tied to the release you actually install.
